Cameron Scott Walters

US Navy Airman, Cameron Scott Walters 21, was born was born June 16, 1998 in Savannah, Georgia, the son of Shane Michael Walters, his mother Amanda Paige Walters, and step mother Heather Lea Walters.

He grew up in Effingham County, GA and was a graduate of Effingham County High School. He later Moved to Richmond Hill GA to be with his dad Shane and step mother Heather Lea Walters.

Following in his father's footsteps, Cameron joined the Navy in October of 2019. He went through US Navy Basic Training (boot camp) at Great Lakes, where he decided to become a Naval Air Crewman. Cameron Graduated from Basic Training on November 22, 2019. He was then given his orders to report to the the Naval Aviations Schools Command in Pensacola, FL for Naval Aircrew Candidate School. While waiting for his class to start, the Airman were tasked to stand a security watch in the building. On the day of December 6, 2019, while patrolling his watch area, he heard shots being fired in his building and ran to investigate along with two others from his upcoming class. When they arrived they saw a Saudi international student shooting people, so Cameron and two others attempted to save as many as they could before he and his two counterparts were were mortally wounded.

AN Cameron Walters was posthumously promoted to his rate of AWF3, received his Coveted Aircrew Wings and The Purple Heart.
